Sergeants Miniatures Game (SMG) is a struggle to describe. You might call it a "card-driven miniatures game." You might call it a "3-D boardgame." What you’re sure to call it is, challenging, quick, and fun to play.

"Sergeants Miniatures Game" is a totally new system, with the game’s engine run by impulse cards managing four broad, basic functions—and randomizing the order—while each player manages a hand of cards constructed by the talents and foibles of the troops under his or her command.

Unlike many "miniatures" games where you buy the rules and then have to start shopping and painting, SMG is a complete game out of the box. You’ll find 20mm, pre-painted miniatures, plenty of thick, two-sided, colorful mapboard tiles which can assembled in various ways, easy rules, scenarios, player aids... everything else you need to get started on your missions and having fun fast.

CONTENTS:

• 160 coated playing cards
• 18 tiles for terrain and landmarks, which can make a mapboard 20" by 30" large, or be put together in smaller configurations.
• Rulebook, plastic movement/sighting player aids, and everything you need to get started!
• Day of Days is a "Story," which includes everything you need for a 2-player game. Additional figures can be added to make this a 3 or 4 player game.

Game Master's Kit

The "Game Master's Kit" helps you run your SMG games smoother and faster than ever before. Each kit is made from the same sturdy and durable material as the SMG board pieces.

The Action Stand works with the Story Deck to help show the action sequence of every turn. Twelve (12) color matching Action Stand counters can be placed on the stand to match the story cards and can be seen even from across the room.

The Turn Counter is a compact, double sided counter that can help you keep track of up to 32 game turns.

Six Initiative Order tokens help players keep track of who has initiative each turn.

35 Victory Tokens come in 1, 5 and 10 point VP denominations. Very helpful when players score points from Story events.

80 Action counters for MOVE, SHOOT, LOOK and HIDE. Keep track of your actions when the battle heats up during play by placing markers by each soldier.

16 Encounter markers help you keep track of enemies your troops encounter for Skirmish orders. Place markers on Soldier Cards to keep track who's been encountered.

The Entry Area borders fit exactly as your existing map border pieces. Match them up to the scenario map layout for easy to recognize entry and exit areas. Extra 5 inch and 10 inch border pieces are included for more map building flexibility.

The war rages across Normandy with the "La Fière Bridge" expansion. The story continues with fourteen new scenarios and map pieces. An all new story deck includes People cards featuring Carter and Thielen from the Day of Days starter set.

The new missions introduce difficult terrain with extensive cover. The heavily wooded terrain and flooded fields slow movement and challenges the approach move to objectives. The La Fière Bridge and La Fière Bridge Manior are a challenging pair of Landmarks to control.

The German Light Infnatry Squad was organized as an offensive force and the make up varied extensively during the war. Light Infantry was a foundation that supported other attached forces during combat operations - leading to diverse force structures and missions.

Hasty Positions Normandy Expansion

Sergeants Miniatures Game Terrain Expansion

The "Hasty Positions Normandy Expansion" brings further depth and exciting gameplay to the world of SMG.

Each 3-D terrain piece has integrated modifiers for SHOOT, LOOK, HIDE and MOVE exactly like your terrain tiles, making it easier to defend your areas of the map. Placing your positions to hold key areas of movement or setting up interlocking fields of fire will require the use of different tactics to keep the enemy at bay. Your opponent will have to employ various strategies to attempt to overwhelm your positions. Will he resort to rushing your position with a handful of grenades? Or will he try to set up a fire base and overwhelm you with more firepower? Or will your machine guns pin him down while the artillery you called from your Field Telephone falls on him from overhead.

Each of the foxholes comes with it's own set of Story Cards, adding new Story Events for each position, and comes with new Order Cards tasking you to Hold your position . A Field Telephone can even be added to a position to call in off board Mortar or Artillery support to help in your defense.

Each piece comes fully illustrated with easy assembly instructions. All of the terrain is made from the same high quality, sturdy material as your SMG maps so you know that you are receiving a highly durable product that can give you years of enjoyment.

The main assault force is one soldier armed with a M1A1 Thompson sub-machine gun and one carrying a M1 Garand rifle with grenade attachment for explosive firepower at short range. Along with the long range fire support from two soldiers carrying M1 Garand rifles, this team is dynamic and effective.
